What if….

Lately I have been asked a bunch..”hows Lydia adjusting to Asher?’ the simple answer is ‘she is doing fine.’ Our family is large..(according to todays standards.) We had 5 children in 7 years, one right after another. Why do we have so many children? Is it healthy for us? Do we make enough money? You will regret it… the comments could go on and on. But as of this past week, as I look around my little brood of humans.. I see something.. something different. baby #5

What if.

Yes I long to hold my little baby after 9 long months, Yes I love they way they smell, Yes watching them grow makes me giddy. But is that why we have them? Maybe. But what if that #2, #5, #9th child isn’t about you at all?

What if … its for them. The other humans (littles) in your home?
So the questions HOW is lydia… here are a few snap shots of the last 8 weeks.

Lydia pulled the wipe pkg out and stood on it could she could not see ‘aaa’

Our family is a reflection of love that grows.. grows within my heart as a mother but in the hearts of our other children. Our boys often say.. “when God blesses us with another baby..” Having each one is directly in part to the Fact God wanted the current kent kids to have another sibling. As I see Lydia (who’s first word is “aaaa’ -the simple sound of Aa) and her delight and excitment each morning when she runs room to room hollering “aaaaa” in search of her friend. Her brother. No where in her is jealously or hurt feelings.

Then I see today where Judah and Levi both took special time with her because they wanted to… loving on her showing her she is special.

What if she was born for them..

them needing each other

them wanting each other

God loving them enough.

What if its NOTHING about us.. but all about God’s plan?

What if?!?!

Just a day…

Today was unusual… the kind of unusual I’d love to stick around..  As we woke and sent daddy off to work I realized he left his phone.. NO this can’t happen.. what if He needed it.. what if I NEEDED him to have it?!?! {Come on lets be real we know it was just as much for him as me} SO I loaded all the kids up ..mind you it is only 8:00 and headed towards his work.. all the while scanning oncoming traffic to make sure he didn’t come home looking for it.

Success.. phone delivered. Then back home.. NOW mind you Lydia {chickadee} is still not sleeping through the night and as of late has decided to wake up like EVER.SINGLE. 3 hours.. So i was slap wore out.. plus i was flying solo this weekend so i was POOPED! I needed a nap..but it was only 9:30 .. so we made lemonade out of lemons.. The kids and I played a game and then went on a walk, eat lunch and then took naps {YES ME TOO!} The boys woke early and stay in their rooms quite for TWO {2} hours!!! Playing lego’s and reading. The girls slept till 3! Made dinner and then headed to Judah’s dive camp.

Now i realize this seems dumb for an entire post but for me.. as i was getting all the littles in their pi’s and having them cozie down for the night.. I was able to capture the day in one picture….

all ready for bed!:)

all ready for bed!:)

NO one got in trouble, no one hurt another sibling, no one screamed, or argued with me… Everyone work together, played happy, enjoyed each other, smiled, laughter.. Today was a great day.. a glimpse of GRACE..

Love my children, love my life, Love my Savior!

“officially a homeschool mom”

A few days ago I had to get my oil changed.. LIKE i was WAY WAY over.. the light was one over:( So I decided “tomorrow” was the day. Since Superman could not do it for me or even stay with the kids (cause if i waited till then it MIGHT break down)… I gathered all that i would need to be at the car place for HOURS.. cause lets be real.. they don’t use clocks, and dont care about what we have planned. Snacks, blanket, daipers, change of clothes (potty training).. And school for my oldest 2. SO I loaded up the car with these and headed out for our morning adventure….

We arrived at dealership, and the process of oil change began… I laid out my blanket..(CAUSE the floor was GROSS!) And began passing out their activities..

ONLY to be told .. moments later… “Mrs Kent, your car is finished!”

BUT IF I WASN’T PREPARED.. i would still be there:)

Then onto the stove to boil..

Then onto the stove to boil..

Each color had to be mixed with water and vinegar.. We let boil for a long time (we started talking so who really knows ..maybe an hour??) We did drop a few non boiled yet eggs into the pots those were brighter colored in the end.

While the pots were boiling the kids were playing!
