North Pole Breakfast

Today was our annual North Pole breakfast..(we are on year 3!!) I was kinda afraid it would not happen with a slight scare of my water breaking last night (with #5) but lucky for it is was just a scare:)

Joel and I prepped the table last night and got everything ready for this morning… 10885351_10152968167454626_7742897964824412650_n 10885453_10152968167639626_546575882552603270_n

North Pole breakfast means different things to different families.. for us it is all things ‘christmasy’ santa, reindeers, snowman, those sort of things. We do it on Christmas eve and it is a great start to a day full of fun!! This year it wasn’t decorated like i wanted it to be.. but the kids loved it non the same!

A few days ago Levi and I went on a date and through chatting with him, he mentioned his favorite christmas memory is this the North Pole Breakfast!:)

The family!

The family! Lydia didn’t understand why we were all looking this way.. it was kinda funny!

Breakfast includes, pancakes, bacon, orange juice, hot chocolate with a candy cane stirrer, snowman donuts, and a banana/strawberry candy cane:)

The kids get one gift, its the one in the boxes.. I look throughout the year trying to find the perfect ornament that describes them that year… and then before we eat they get to open it and put it on the tree.. its neat to see them SOO excited!

I LOOKED AND LOOKED for a Mary Poppins ornament. NON To be found (and my mom finally found one so YES she will get one for this year!!) So Selah ended up with a princess Balleria! She loves all things dance and princess!!

Christmas Experience…

Last year we decided to switch things up a bit … for Christmas we have always done 3 gifts. Why .. well Jesus only got 3 AND because my children are beyond blessed to receive many gifts throughout the Christmas season .. so why just continue to throw gifts at them!?! My kids don’t make lists, so listening to them all year long to find out what they really want is so so much more meaningful! AND we feel that those 3 gifts from us should count.

BUT not break the bank.. our budget on all 4 kids is 150$. TOTAL (not each). Last year we decided to change the 3 gifts to 2 gifts and do a Christmas Experience with each child. Levi’s was to legoland, Judah was to ride a horse. Selah didn’t get the concept so we decided they had to be 3.

A few weeks ago we took Selah on her Experience. She as with every other girl in America loves Frozen.. so we took her to see Frozen on Ice. My sister-n-law found some amazing tickets and we were all able to go for $60. (5 of us!!) I went to Walmart and picked up Elsa and Anna shirts and light up bracelets and planned on getting a treat once we arrived.

arriving at the rink.. she was in heaven!

We had amazingly close seats and sat with Joels family. It was fun to see the excited of my niece and my daughter as each character was introduced! Having my in-laws there was so nice and festive!! 🙂

My 3 oldest littles

We decided to take all the older ones to each experience.. we just make it more about the one.. and that one gets the special ‘extras’. BUT all 3 kids LOVED the show!

Seriously beautiful and so worth every penny!

Like I said Joels family joined in on the fun.. Great memories for all!

So Selah will only receive 2 gifts from us.. but will have this memory for a long time we hope! Love doing special things with our family. TIME is a gift and we are giving it to them in the form of a christmas gift!:) Now to get the boys set up and pick out their 2 gifts!!!!

YEAH!
Do you do any fun christmas tradition!??

North Pole Breakfast

Around here we don’t do Santa.. (SUE ME 😦 ) But we do have an annual North Pole Breakfast.. which simply means, we do all things Santa, snowmen, reindeer, ect… My kids look forward to it every year (as do I 🙂 This allow’s our Christmas Day to be filled with thoughts of Jesus’s Birthday. So TODAY (christmas eve) was our breakfast. I was up last night making the table and getting the kitchen ready for the morning so we would not delay and begin making breakfast right away.

A place setting for Levi

With red & green pancakes made my superman, sausage, oranges, pineapple, reindeer mix, peppermint marshmallow’s, hot chocolate and OJ, it was a yummy start of Christmas Eve!

DSC06157Every year they get a little something from the ‘north’ one year it was sock’s, or mitten’s and this year we did their special ornaments.. because by chance their special ornaments was also their experience.. (we only do 2 gifts for each child and then they also get 1 day -experience with us-) This makes it more fun! And lets them know they are each special…  It started back in Nov with Superman.. who got this from me..

DIY… this and that

For Christmas this past year i wanted to make a bunch of the gifts we gave.. although i wanted to do more i was able to do 5 or so really neat ones.. Thanks to good ol’ pinterest!

The first one i made was a scarf for my Sis n law…

DSC02541

I used Fabric Juice i ordered off Amazon..(the tips were med..but i think i could have gone with wide) I wrote the verse

“she is clothed in strength  and dignity, she can laugh without fear of the future. Proverbs31:35”  I got the scarf at 5 & below… it was time consuming but i loved the end results!

The next thing i made was this:

DSC02471

(i sell the decals over on my site http://www.etsy.com/shop/Delightdesigns2 ) I loved the way it turned out..

I am watching two little girls 4 days a week so for their parents I made this:
