Dresser Re-do

Since we are expecting our 4th bundle of joy and we live in a 3 bedroom home. I knew right away storage would be something I would have to invest in.. I wanted to add a dresser to “Baby’s” room and get rid fo the changing table… When a friend of mine saw this dresser at Goodwill for $30 WE knew we had to get it.. DSC04611

It was the WRONG color, had a broken drawer and a hole threw the back.. BUT It was 30$ and cute:)

Here is Me painting the 1 thousandth coat on this sucker...

Here is Me painting the 1 thousandth coat on this sucker…I am 19 weeks here and soo big!!

But since once again our budget is limited we had to work with it.. White is what is in Baby’s room so I had no choice (ok maybe I did but didn’t really want to have a choice.. i MEAN it had to look CUTE:)

Well sister likes it!

I wanted to get super cute handles but then after the paint and the dresser which =’ed $45 i knew our budget for this project was about done.. SO we got a can of yellow spray paint from Home Depot and went to town on the old ones that came with the dresser.. I think it looks good.. YOU?!?!

SO glad I didn’t buy brand new that would have cost a ton!!

Reveal Party!!!!!!

Well thanks to Good  ol’ Pinterest with baby #4 I HAD to have a reveal party!:) HAHA Good thing my Superman was up for it! So as I began searching themes and activities I realized what i really wanted was no where.. SOO i created my own!

Welcome to our Brother Sister party!

The invitation I created to go along with our Brother/Sister Theme

The invitation I created to go along with our Brother/Sister Theme

I wanted this theme because everywhere we went people ask the kids “are you having a brother or sister” and I thought how fitting?!?!

We decided on a simple icecream social.. since my budget was only $50 .. feeding all our friends was out of the question. Here is a peak at what our Reveal looked liked…

A little pre-party picture!!

The party table.. I went with the traditional pink and blue for the kids (and i really wanted to use the vintage boy and girl and thought it fit right into the colors!)

Water Fun..INSIDE

I had this CRAZY idea the other day (WHILE IT WAS RAINING OUTSIDE) and my 3 kids were about to go stir crazy (we dont do tv or video games unless its a family night) .. SOO i got out the water and this is what happened!

So we pulled up to chairs and got out the busy bag ‘clothes line’.. this allowed the boys to wash, rinse and then dry the mini fake clothes.

Surprising i didn’t have water everywhere AND they played for about 25 mins.. success in my mind! After they were done they had to ….

Hang the clothes up to dry.. (i set this up for them, but then they worked together to hang them up!

Now they have played this many times but it has been a while since i pulled it out, so for them it was a huge treat! TO my surprise they wanted to keep going with the water, expect sister wanted join in on the fun (and it was dinner time so I was ok with that!)

I gave her two cups and she went to town. I was able to start & finish dinner and she STILL wanted to play more!

(I have her on the towel so she will not slip if the water spilt -which water did and it was soaked up in the towel.

**Please know my kids begin sitting on the counter at about 1 year (in the sink) then we transition to the counter.. they know and have been doing this a long time!

Well Taco wanted to do JUST want Sister did..

DSC04759

I did give him more (a medicine dropper, two cups a bowl of water and a teaspoon and tablespoon …

Another 20 mins..WOW i am loving this! (can you tell!)

AND would you be shocked if I told you my 6 year wanted to ‘try’…?!?! i was a little but then was happy to set him up!

DSC04762

So after a GREAT water afternoon (AND NO MESS) i wanted to share … sometimes the simplest things are the most fun for kids! It doesn’t have to be $$ or crazy.. it can be cups of water!!
